Simple Tomato Rasam Recipes:

Ingredients:
- Tomato-2 no
- Water as required
- Tamarind pulp-2 to 3 tbsp
- Salt as per taste
- Turmeric powder-1tsp
- Rasam powder-2 tbsp
- Sugar -1tsp
- Coriander leaves a handfull
For tempering:
- Oil – 1 tbsp
- Mustard Seeds / Kaduku – 1/2 tsp
- Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam – 1/2 tsp
- Red chilli- 2 no
- Asafoetida / Hing / Kaya Podi – a pinch
- Curry leaves – a sprig
Method:
- First take tow tomatoes and boil the tomatoes with water for 10 min
- Then mash the boiled tomatoes with hand itself.
- Soak the tamarind in water for few minutes and then extract the tamarind pulp.
- Add in tamarind pulp in mashed tomato mixer and mix it well.
- Then add salt, turmeric powder, rasam powder and sugar mix well.
- Place the mixer in stove and bring to boil.
- Heat oil in a sauce pan, add in mustard, cumin, asafoetida and curry leaves. Saute for 30 sec.
- once it starts to boil, turn off the heat and add in lots of chopped coriander leaves.
- Mix well. Cover it till serving.
- Serve with rice.

- Don't add more tamarind pulp otherwise it became tangy more, because we using mashed tomatoes in this recipe.
