If u have no time to prepare side dish for idli and dosa, Even u don't have coconut and tomato ,then u can check out this and prepare this as side dish for idli and dosa.you should fry seasoning alone for this onions chutney..

Ingredients:
- Onion-1 large chopped roughly
- Small onions/shallots-4 no
- Dry Red Chilli – 4 no
- Garlic – 4 cloves
- Tamarind -1/2 inch
- Salt as needed
For Seasonings:
- Oil-2 tbsp
- Mustard Seeds / Kaduku -1 tsp
- Ulundu/urad dal-1tsp
- Hing/perungayam-1 tsp
- Curry leaves -1 spring
Method:
- Grind all the ingredients given for the chutney in a blender to a fine paste and transfer it into a bowl.
- Now make seasoning by heating oil and crackling mustard and curry leaves.
- Pour this seasoning over the chutney and mix well.
- Serve with idli or dosas..
