RAW ONION CHUTNEY /PACHA VENGAYAM CHUTNEY

Raw onion chutney-quick side dish for idli and dosa..

If u have no time to prepare side dish for idli and dosa, Even u don't have coconut and tomato ,then u can check out this and prepare this as side dish for idli and dosa.you should fry seasoning alone for this onions chutney..

Raw onion chutney recipes:

Dish:side dish/idli or dosa

Serves:3 no

Ingredients:

  • Onion-1 large chopped roughly
  • Small onions/shallots-4 no
  • Dry Red Chilli – 4 no
  • Garlic – 4 cloves
  • Tamarind  -1/2 inch
  • Salt as needed

For Seasonings:

  • Oil-2 tbsp
  • Mustard Seeds / Kaduku -1 tsp
  • Ulundu/urad dal-1tsp
  • Hing/perungayam-1 tsp
  • Curry leaves -1 spring

Method:

  1. Grind all the ingredients given for the chutney in a blender to a fine paste and transfer it into a bowl.
  2. Now make seasoning by heating oil and crackling mustard and curry leaves.
  3. Pour this seasoning over the chutney and mix well.
  4. Serve with idli or dosas..
