Chicken soup – healthy soup recipe for babies, toddlers and kids made with chicken and little spices. Chicken soup is a great remedy for cold and cough as it helps to reduce the stuffy nose and congestion, and also its apt for monsoon and winter season! As chicken soup is made with onions, ginger and garlic, that helps to boosts the immune system as well.

If your baby/kid doesn’t want to drink it plain, you could also serve this chicken soup with mashed rice, idli dosa etc.

Chicken Soup For Babies recipes:

Ingredients:

  • Chicken with bone-1/4 kg
  • Pattai/cinnamon-1 inch
  • Lavangam/cloves-1 no
  • Bay leaf/brinji ilai-1 no
  • Cumin seeds/jeeragam-1tsp
  • Sombu/fennel seeds-1tsp
  • Mint leaves- a spring
  • Onion chopped-1 no
  • Shallots-3 no
  • Tomato chopped-1/2 no
  • Salt to taste
  • Whole black pepper-4 no
  • Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
  • Oil as required
  • Cumin seeds-1 tsp
  • Dhanaya leaves- little bit
Method:
  1. Keep all ingredients ready. Clean chicken pieces and chop into small pieces. Finely chop coriander leaves, onions & tomato. Grind half amount of onions, coriander leaves, mint leaves, cumin seeds and pepper corns to a fine paste.
  2. In a pressure cooker, heat a tsp of ghee/oil and add cinnamon, bay leaf,  cloves & cumin seeds. Let cumin seeds crackle.
  3. Then add remaining onions, ginger & garlic paste and tomatoes. Fry them nicely until golden brown. Now add ground coriander paste and saute until raw smell leaves.
  4. Then add turmeric powder and required salt. Mix everything well and then add chopped chicken pieces and saute it nicely for 5 minutes.
  5. Pressure cook the chicken with 2 cups of water for 3-4 whistles in medium flame or until the chicken is cooked well. Once the pressure is released open the cooker. Strain the chicken soup with a strainer to get a clear soup, if desired.

4)Heat oil in a pan
5)Add whole garam masala
6)Add onion chopped
7)Add chopped tomatoes and ginger&garlic paste cook till it turns into mushy
8)Add grained paste
9)Add chicken
10)Add turmeric powder and salt
11)Add required water mix well
12)pressure cook  the chicken for 3-4 whistles in medium flame or until the chicken is cooked well. 
13)Once the pressure is released open the cooker.Strain the chicken soup with a strainer to get a clear soup, if desired
14)Healthy chicken soup is ready. Serve warm!
