POTATO PURI/ALOO PURI

Aloo poori or Potato poori is a perfect breakfast or dinner recipe which tastes super delicious. They are prepared by adding mashed potatoes and few Indian spices in the wheat flour. These poor is tastes so sumptuous that they can be consumed as it is. Pooris have been the favorite of all the kids thus they will relish these masala pooris the most.

Ingredients:

  •  Medium sized potato / alooboiled-1 no
  • Wheat flour / atta-1 cup
  • Bombay rava / sooji / semolina-1tbsp
  • Kashmiri chilli powder-1 tsp
  • Garam masala powder-1/4 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Ajwain seeds / caraway seeds-1/4 tsp
  • Oil-1tsp for kneading dough
  • Water as required to knead dough 
  • Oil for deep frying

Method:

  • Firstly, in a large mixing bowl, grate 1 medium sized boiled potato.
  • Then, to that add 1 cup wheat flour.
  • Also add 1 tbsp sooji. this helps to make poori crispy.
  • Now add spices like chilli powder, garam masala powder, ajwain seeds and salt to taste.
  • Furthermore, add a tsp of oil.
  • Then mix the spices, flour and aloo well.
  • Now slowly add water as required and prepare a stiff dough.
  • make a tight and stiff dough as you make for pooris.
  • Cut the dough into small or medium pieces with the help of knife.
  • Make small lemon sized balls between your palms.
  • Also roll the dough evenly into circles using rolling pin.

Frying for aloo puri:

  • When the oil is sufficiently hot, add one poori.
  • And press with the spoon to puff up.
  • Once they puff, it will automatically turn over.
  • And fry the poori till golden brown all over.
  • Finally, serve aloo poori as it is or with curries of your choice.

11)roll the dough evenly into circles using rolling pin. roll neither too thin nor thick.
12)heat oil in a deep frying pan or kadai. when the oil is sufficiently hot, add one poori and cook till golden colour 
13)Serve it.
