MUTTON NENJU ELUMBU SOUP/MARKANDAN SOUP


Mutton nenju elumbu soup / markandan soup is a dish which demands no explanations, it's a whole world of flavour in itself. Nalli elumbu soup / Bone marrow soup is a very simple and easy recipe to prepare. The time required to make this recipe is not very much, but the delicious taste it renders is just remarkable.

I prepared this soup for my boy so i added little bit, u can add spice in large amount according as per taste.

This is very healthy and strength recipe so for we star to give for 6 months baby.

Ingredients:

  • Mutton nenju elumbu-500 gram
  • Pattai/ cinnamon -1 inch
  • Lavangam/Cloves-2 no
  • Mace/Javitri -1 no
  • Bay leaf-1
  • Kalpasi/Black stone flower-1 no
  • Oil-1 tbsp
  • Onion chopped-1 no
  • Mint leaves-a spring
  • Green chilli-1 no
  • Tomato chopped-1 no
  • Salt-as per taste
  • Ginger&Garlic paste-1tbsp
  • Turmeric powder-1 tsp
  • Red chilli powder-1tbsp
  • Sombu powder/Fennel powder
  • Dhanaya powder/coriander powder-1tbsp
  • Garam masala powder-1tsp
  • Thuvaram paruppu/Toor dal-3 tbsp
  • Water-1 cup
  • Black pepper/Milagu powder- as per taste

Method:

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add whole garam masala.
  2. Add chopped onions, green chilli and mint saute till golden colour.
  3. Then add chopped tomatoes cook it turns into mushy.
  4. Add ginger&garlic paste, salt fry well.
  5. Then add all spice powder and mix well.
  6. Now add Soaked thuvaram paruppu mix well.
  7. Atlast add cleaned nenju elumbu mix well and add required water mix well.
  8. Close the lid and cook for 5 whistles in high flame.
  9. After pressure release ,open the lid and strain it .
  10. Serve it with salt and pepper

8)Then add soaked dal and cleaned nenju elumbu 

10)Add water and close the lid and cook for 5 whistles in high flame


11)After pressure release, open the lid and see mutton is cook well and strain it



12)Then serve it with pepper and salt
