It is also a good source of iron, magnesium and phosphorus. Broken wheat is more nutritious than rice, because it contains more fiber, more vitamins and minerals, and has a better glycemic index than white rice or refined flour.

Instant rava idli recipes:

prep time :10 min

Dish:main/ diet idli
Cuisines:Indian
Serves:2 no

  • Wheat Rava / Godhumai Rava – 2 cup
  • Thick Unsour Curd /Yogurt-1/2 cup
  • Water as needed
  • Eno salt or baking soda-1tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for greasing idli moulds


For Tempering:

  • Curry leaves-a spring
  • Oil – 1 tsp
  • Mustard Seeds / Kaduku – 1 tsp
  • Urad dal / Ulundu Paruppu – 1 tsp
  • Asafoetida / Hing / Kaya Podi – 1/4 tsp
  • Green Chillies – 1 finely chopped

Method:

  1. Take broken wheat in a blender and run it once or twice till it is a little fine.
  2. Take that in a bowl, add curd, salt, water and mix well.
  3. Now make tempering by heating oil and add all the ingredients given in the list and let it sizzle for a min.
  4. Pour this over the idli batter and mix well.
  5. Add in some more water and mix well till it is correct consistency.
  6. Now add in eno salt or baking soda is optional only ,other wise just skip this step.
  7. Now grease some oil in idli steaming plates. pour idli batter in it, don't over fill it. Steam it for 8 to 10 mins.
  8. Remove it and let it cool for 5 mins. Now dip a spoon in some water and release the idlies.
  9. Serve with chutney or your choice..

8)Some chopped green chilli and curry leaves

10)And pour this tadka in rava batter and mix well
11)Take idli streaming plate and drizzle some oil and grease well
12)take spoonful of batter and pour in it
13)place it in steaming pot 
14)And stream it
15)Idli is ready ,so soft and so healthy and serve it
