This is a very popular Thogayal which is very well known for its taste and very simple to make. Especially when you spend a week full time with menus like Sambhar, Rasam, etc etc, this gives a great change to the menu.

Ingredients:
- Coconut – 1/2 cup grated
- Urad Dal – 2 tbsp
- Dry Red Chilli – 4
- Tamarind – 1 tsp
- Oil – 1 tsp
- Salt – to taste
Method:
- Heat oil – add urad dal and red chillies fry till golden brown.Then add tamarind and fry for 2mins and keep separately.
- Then add coconut and salt Saute till moisture leaves and slightly browned.
- Transfer dal ,chilli and tamarind in a blender and grain into powder.
- Then add roasted coconut and little water, grind it to a semi coarse paste.
- Serve it with hot steamed rice and rasam and papad – awesome combo!
