SIMPLE ONION CHUTNEY

Delicious and easy onion chutney made using very basic ingredients and can be made in less than 10 mins. So delicious with idli and dosa.

Simple onion chutney recipes:

cooking time:2 min
total time:7 min

Dish:chutney/side dish
Cuisines:indian
Serves:3 no

Ingredients:

  • Oil - 1 tsp
  • Dry Red Chilli - 4
  • Onion - 1 large chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Tamarind a small piece
For seasoning:
  • Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds - ½ tsp
  • Curry leaves - 1 sprig

Method:

  1. Heat oil in a pan, add dry red chilli and cook till golden and charred.
  2. Add onions, salt and mix well.Cook for 2 mins.
  3. Add tamarind and mix well.
  4. Take it in a blender and make it into a fine puree.
  5. Take it in a bowl.
  6. Heat oil and add mustard and curry leaves. Pour this into the chutney and mix well.
  7. Serve.

3)In pan add onions, cook for 2 min and add tamarind mix well

5)Take all the ingredients in a blender
6)Grain into paste
7)Then transfer into bowl and add salt
8)Heat oil in a pan, add mustard and urad dal
9)Add curry leaves and hing
10)Then transfer into bowl 
11)Serve it with idli and dosa
