The Korma is an ultimate delight for meat lovers. This mutton korma recipe has mutton stirred in with the coconut ,green chilli and spices..

This is a very easy mutton kurma that can be put together in minutes. The addition of coconut makes the kurma very rich. I like to use both green chillies and red chilli powder for this recipe. It adds a nice flavour. Here is how to do mutton kurma Tamilnadu style.

This mutton korma goes very well with pulao, briyani, paratha even with idli and dosa... Even we can serve with plain cooked rice.

I like to make many korma recipes be it with vegetables or non vegetarian and this non veg mutton korma is absolutely delicious and lip smacking one!!!

Mutton kurma tamil nadu style recipes:

Ingredients:



  • Mutton/meat -500 grams 
  • Carrot chopped-1 no
  • Green peas-1 cup
  • Beans chopped-3 no
  • Onion chopped-2 no
  • Tomato chopped-2 no
  • Oil-3 tbsp
  • Cinnamon stick medium size-1 no
  • Cloves- 3 no
  • Salt - to taste
  • Red chilli powder-2tbsp
  • Turmeric powder -1/2 tsp
  • ginger& garlic paste-2 tbsp
  • coriander Powder/Dhanaya powder-1 tbsp
  • Garam masala powder-1/2 tbsp
  • Coriander leaves- a handfull

For paste:

  • Coconut- 1/2 cup
  • Green chilli-2 no
  • Water as required

Method:

  1. First wash and boil the mutton with water in pressure cooker for 5 whistles in high flame.
  2. After pressure release, open it and keep separately.
  3. Take a blender add coconut and green chilli and required water and blend it into fine paste.
  4. Heat oil in a pan add pattai and lavangam and crackle them.
  5. Add onion chopped fry for few minutes.
  6. Then add tomato chopped ,curry leaves and ginger and garlic paste fry till it turns into soft.
  7. Then add vegetables carrot, peas and beans mix well.
  8. Then add paste and required water mix well.
  9. Now add all spice powder mix well.
  10. Then add boiled mutton pieces mix well and to boil well.
  11. After raw smell gone ,switch off the flame .
  12. And add coriander leaves .
  13. Serve it with hot rice.

5)Add tomato chopped and curry leaves
6)Add ginger&garlic paste and salt saute till it turns into mushy
7)Add all mixed vegetables carrot, beans and peas mix well

8)Add grain paste and required water now mix well


9)Add all spice powder, mix well
10)Now add boiled mutton pieces and mix well
11)After they boiled well and raw smell gone, switch off and add coriander leaves mix well
12)Serve it with hot rice
