INSTANT RASAM POWDER

How to make Rasam Powder - Rasam Powder is a key ingredient in south indian cooking. 
Although it is available readymade in stores, most people prefer to make it at home in small or large quantities depending on their requirement. 

Since it is made in small batches, it also retains a strong aroma. You can store it at room temperature in a dry and airtight container for a month..

Here i prepare instant rasam powder for 2 days, but in this blog ,i wrote quantity of instant rasam powder for 1 month...

Rasam is a stale diet of people in South India. This can be had as a soup also.


Instant rasam powder recipes:

total time:10 min

Dish:Spice powder
Cuisines:indian

Ingredients:

  • Curry leaves-a hand full
  • Dhanaya seeds/Coriander leaves-3 tbsp
  • Garlic with skin-10 no no
  • Red chilli-15 no
  • Jeera/Cumin seeds-2 tbsp
  • Methi seed-1 tsp
  • Tuvaram paruppu/Toor dal-1/2 cup
  • Black pepper powder/Milagu-1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder/Manjal powder-1tbsp

Method:



  1. Roast all the ingredients , except turmeric.
  2. Once all ingredients all well roasted, switch off the stove. 
  3. Remove this to a plate and let it cool completely.
  4. Take this in a blender and crush lightly and add turmeric powder grind coarsely. (we added garlic with skin so it comes like coarse powder only)
  5. Store it in a air tight container and use accordingly.

3)Allow to cool in a plate
4)Then take in a blender
5)Add turmeric powder and hing
6)Grain into coarse powder

7)Store in a air tight container
