SESAME SEED POWDER /ELLU PODI RECIPE
This seasoning powder is made with toasted sesame seeds and dried red chilli peppers.This can be served over some rice and a drizzle of ghee. You can have it with idli or dosa too.
I posted this recipe in telugu version, called Nuvvu Podi.it was very health podi recipe.I used black sesame see in this recipe.
So, today I am happy to posting one of my favorite podi recipes called Nuvvullu podi..There is something very addictive about nuvvulu or seasame seeds which is rich in protein and highly nutritious

Ingredients:
- Oil – 1/2 tsp
- Urad Dal / Ulundu Paruppu – 1/2 cup
- Dry Red Chillies – 5 to 8
- Sesame Seeds / Ellu – 1 cup
- Toor dhal/Tuvaram paruppu-1/4 cup
- Hing-1 tsp
- Curry Leaves a handful
- Salt to taste
Method:
- In a dry pan add red chilli roast it till golden colour .remove to a plate.
- Then add sesame seed and roast till done.remove to a plate.
- Heat oil in a pan, add in urad dal, toor dal and roast till golden. Remove to a plate.
- Take curry leaves in a pan and toast till crispy. Remove to a plate.
- Cool down completely.
- Take it a blender add in hing and salt and powder till crushed.
- Cool it down, store it in a air tight container.
